Scope of Services
Active
Members of the Coalition Network of Forensic Examiners (CNFE) are committed to providing services and support in an unbiased
and objective manner. Typical services include report review, examinations and expert testimony. These
services are available to either side involved in civil or criminal legal proceedings, regardless of alliance
(prosecution, defense or plaintiff), as well as to law enforcement and insurance companies.
All requests for service are considered on a case by case basis by the individual members, or referred to another qualified
member where conflicts of interest may be an issue.
Members set fees and/or review and accept
cases on an individual basis and should be contacted directly for information and consideration.
The CNFE is a standards establishing and testing organization which includes the following purposes:

Peer review of procedures and claims regarding
the forensic examination of vehicle ignition locks, ignition systems, steering columns, anti-theft systems and related matters.

Review, test and evaluate new, previously
unknown, questionable or unsubstantiated claims, methods and/or procedures as they involve automotive forensic examinations
and related matters.
l Establish and publish guidelines and protocols for standardizing examination procedures.
l
Share information among members and associate
members.
l
Promote training and education.
The CNFE is a coalition of independent companies and individuals establishing their
own fee schedules, administrative policies and procedures. Client selection is solely at the discretion of each member. CNFE
is not responsible or liable for member conduct, member services and related opinions and fees; or matters related to, or
resulting from, those services, opinions or fees.
